Make America Catholic
Catholicism, that great gift of faith and religion given to us by Almighty God, in whose chief meaning and purpose is derived from Jesus Christ the Lord and persists as the means of salvation for all of humanity, battles against the ideologies and imaginations of men, the machinations of human intellect regarding morals and virtue; the world, caught up in materialism and the dragon of relativism, apathy for ones’ neighbor and the suffering of those in the world; the humanly flawed aspects of the Church which were meant to guide and guard, not govern; and in this great war for the souls of every American, many have lost their way and walk the fearful road of despair and the path of perdition.
Yet Jesus Christ, in whom there is plentiful redemption, the forgiveness of sins, and the raising up to new exhaltation to life in the glory of our God, and to whom the Church has been entrusted all of her natural and supernatural gifts, and who bore the Cross until the end with perseverance and all virtue, for us Americans too, intercedes with mercy to Almighty God, for Americans and the whole world.
This country was once a nation of hope for all, bought with the sweat and blood of patriots, and paved for us Americans today by the responsibility of the hard labor of hope — it was a Christian country, having compassion and goodwill for our neighbor. It was an honorable country, governed by honesty and the prudence of our founding fathers. Americans once believed that trusting in God was the compass and motivation for the foundations of this great nation, that it was the destiny of America ordained by Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be a bulwark to the ways of the world and a shining beacon of excellence.
Have we lost our way? No, perhaps not, but there must be a renewal in the foundations of what has made America great, and it is not a purely political battle or a triumph of the facade of wotfs — but turning to the truth, and that is Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, to that ancient maxim that trusting in God will be our salvation and our fortress; we must champion not only liberty but the freedom to do and choose what is right, justice infused with goodwill, and the fervent and bold American spirit that has been gifted to us by God.
I call upon every American, and every Catholic, to fight the good fight in persevering in the Way, the Truth, and the Life who is our Lord. Stand up for what is good and true! Do not be afraid to resist the words and ways of the world, to stand together as Americans for the liberty and goodwill of others, to fight once again for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as ordained by Almighty God in this very day and age. Let this venture, Catholic American, be a source of truth and light for the spiritual journey. Make America Catholic by together proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ through our most august God in the unity of love for one another and strengthened by the defence of Mother Church. May God bless America!
